Maximize the benefit of your commitment by donating your points toward a new donor coach for Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center! When you donate your Commit for Life store points, you can help offset the cost of this essential piece of life-saving equipment.
Two new coaches have been ordered for the Gulf Coast and Brazos Valley regions, and are due to arrive this spring.
When communicating to donors about what would encourage them to donate more frequently, the answer consistently is the same: "Make the experience more convenient for me." Mobile blood drives offer convenience by sending a fully equipped donor coach and staff to schools, businesses, places of worship and retail areas that cannot accommodate a blood drive inside their facility.
Each donor coach can bring in up to 5,000 blood donations a year – and since every donation helps save up to three lives, each coach can help save up to 15,000 lives a year.
The average price to purchase and outfit a new donor coach is $400,000, and the Commit for Life store points you donate will help offset this expense for The Blood Center.
