Our Leadership
Mary Frances Bradford, director of The Blood Center East Texas since 1997, is responsible for all operations of the organization. She oversees 40 employees and collaborates with volunteers, blood drive hosts and others in the community with the ultimate goal of ensuring an adequate blood supply is available for the East Texas area.
Bradford’s medical career spans positions at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, Nacogdoches Medical Center, The Methodist Hospital in Houston, the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and Gamma Biologicals Inc.
She holds professional memberships with the South Central Association of Blood Banks, aaBB and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and associate memberships with Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Marine Corps League.
Community service and involvement are ingrained into Bradford’s daily routine. She sits on the board of both the Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation and the Deep East Texas Local Workforce Development. Active in the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce, she is a graduate of the Leadership Nacogdoches program. She also serves in the Fredonia Rotary Club.
A Nacogdoches native, she graduated from Nacgodoches High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Bradford is the mother of three children and has a grandson with her husband, Dennis, who teaches history at Stephen F. Austin State University.
