Our Leadership

Theresa Fain

Theresa Fain, Technical Services Manager of The Blood Center East Texas, brings 25 years of blood banking and laboratory experience to the team. Fain began work at BCET in March 1998 and oversees a lab staff of six. Her staff works with local hospitals to manage and transport blood components and ensure a safe blood supply.

Fain oversees component processing, hospital services, autologous and directed duties, quality assurance release duties, BacT sampling, and consultation and reference cases for hospitals.

A certified medical technologist, Fain completed her specialist in blood banking technology requirements at Dallas’ Parkland Hospital. Familiar with the East Texas area, she received her Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

Her past experience includes working at large medical centers in Dallas, including St. Paul Medical Center. At Parkland Memorial Hospital she served as a supervisor of transfusion services. Fain returned to East Texas in March 1991 to work for the newly opened Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Lufkin.

Fain is a member of the aaBB, South Central Association of Blood Banks and the Texas Association for Clinical Laboratory Science. Involved in her local community, she is serving her second term as president of Angelina County’s Aggie Moms Club.
