The Blood Center East Texas’s Nacogdoches Neighborhood Donor Center is set to undergo a makeover this spring. As a result, the center will have limited collection capabilities while the renovations are in progress.

On Thursday, March 4, the donor center will be closed. From Friday, March 5 through Saturday, May 1, the center will be open for automated donations only. If you have never made an automated donation, which allows you to donate certain components with the rest of your blood returned to you, this is an ideal time to become an automated donor.

The only whole blood donations accepted at the donor center will be autologous, directed and therapeutic donations, for which appointments will need to be scheduled in advance.

Whole blood donors remain very important to The Blood Center’s life-saving mission, and are encouraged to continue their commitment during this time by giving at one of The Blood Center East Texas’s mobile blood drives.

The Blood Center’s Lufkin Neighborhood Donor Center also will continue to accept whole blood donations.
