This month’s star donor group is Stephen F. Austin State University’s Physical Plant blood drive.  Situated on the SFA campus, the Physical Plant is the only non-student led blood drive involving campus maintenance, safety, custodial, ground, and transportation employees.  Carol Collins, blood drive chairperson and committed blood donor, readily agreed to become a Commit for Life partner this year by sponsoring four blood drives.  “Our donors are always so anxious and willing to help; as soon as one drive is over they start coming in to ask when the next one is scheduled.” 

Additionally, they have embraced The Blood Center East Texas’ new double red program and have recruited many donors who are thrilled with the opportunity of saving twice as many lives through their one donation.  Ms. Collins gives credit for the group’s success to all her dedicated donors, fellow employee Ray  Robberson, and to the support of her manager, Reba Griffith.
