residents about Commit for Life and the convenience of donating at a local Neighborhood Donor Center. Advocate groups are made up of local residents who are donors and who understand the need for blood donation on a personal level. Although some community advocate members are not able to donate, they unselfishly provide The Blood Center with their time and energy to assist us in saving lives by actively recruiting donors and by spreading the word about Commit for Life to others.
Each group meets once a month for an hour at a Neighborhood Donor Center to discuss and organize future activities like community blood drives, local parades and hosting tables at local fairs. Additionally, members strive to build relationships with local businesses and constantly search for opportunities to promote their local Neighborhood Donor Center.
The community advocate’s job is one that demands its members to deeply believe and understand the need for blood donation and our Commit for Life program.
