About the Volunteer Program
Becoming a Commit for Life Volunteer is as easy as following these three steps:
We understand your time is valuable. That is why we only ask that you volunteer 10 hours per quarter. You will be amazed how a small amount of time can make a big difference. |
|
You choose the method of how you would like to be contacted, either through e-mail, telephone or regular mail. We will send you information on volunteer opportunities and blood drives where you can lend a hand. |
|
Encourage others to Commit for Life. Tell friends and family about what you are doing for your community. Get them involved! |
Volunteers are critical to our success. Remember you are representing Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center and your top two priorities are providing WOW Customer Service and educating the public about Commit for Life.
Our Service Promise is: "We create uplifting experiences that leave people feeling…WOW!"
GET SET are the Service Standards for both Volunteers and the Donor Collections Staff that will make our Service Promise happen. If each individual at every drive consistently performs GET SET all our donors will be "WOW’d" and will Commit for Life and we will be able to continue to meet the needs of the patients we serve by permanently increasing the blood supply.
GET SET
G reet and introduce yourself to the donor (Don’t forget to ask "Are you here to save a life?").

Mobile Blood Drive Reminders:
- Please arrive on time and check in with the Collections Supervisor.
- If you have not been given a specific job function remember the Sign-in desk and Canteen are your top priorities. It’s always a good idea to ask the Collections Supervisor if the drive has any special requirements.
- If/when you need to take a break please communicate
with the other volunteers and the Collections Supervisor.
At the end of your scheduled shift please check out with the Collections Supervisor.
Thank you for being WOW!
*Please note: Volunteers are responsible for turning in volunteer hours monthly.*
