Volunteer Recognition

Benefits:

The greatest benefit Volunteers receive from donating their time and talents to The Blood Center is the knowledge they have helped save lives! While this personal satisfaction is intangible, we are pleased to offer volunteers tangible benefits as well. These benefits are divided into three levels: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Each hour volunteered brings you a step closer toward reaching the Gold Level, and ultimately, to saving more lives.

Participation is defined by the number of hours served. One hour of service is equal to 10 points redeemable in the CFL Store.

Levels are as follows:

BRONZE LEVEL
20 to 29
volunteer hours

SILVER LEVEL
30 to 39
volunteer hours
GOLD LEVEL
40 or more

TMC Recognition

Each year, the Texas Medical Center recognizes the efforts of volunteers who give of themselves with a special celebration to honor volunteers.  As a participant in Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center's Commit for Life Volunteer Program, you will be eligible for nomination to be recognized during the event.  In addition, each member of the Texas Medical Center's Volunteer Service Advisory Committee awards one outstanding volunteer to receive the Volunteer of the Year Award.  Winners of this award show exemplary dedication to their cause and generosity of time and spirit to helping make the difference for patients in the Texas Medical Center.

National Volunteer Week

The last week of April is National Volunteer Week.  This is a momentous time during which we show appreciation to our Commit for Life Volunteers for the life saving work they do all year.  There is a special event planned for our volunteers to gather and receive recognition for their dedication and to announce the winners of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the Governor's Award for Volunteerism.  It's our way of showing our gratitude on behalf of all the patients whose lives were saved thanks to the generous donation of time
